During the Renaissance, science was turned from an unintentional doing to more of a thought out plan in discovery. The invention of the scientific method really helped with this and allowed people to prove their discoveries. Also, things like philosophy, astronomy and more were created. What also became common was dissecting the human body. This allowed for new discoveries in ourselves.

The Late Modern Period became after the renaissance from (1500 - 1800). In this day and age, the base discoveries in the Renaissance were put to even more complex use and created amazing inventions. Physics and Chemistry were discovered and became more and more popular. This really proved how science is dynamic and always adding on top of itself.
The Contemporary period is where we are now. This is the age where we are really pushing the boundaries of what the human race can do. We have a complex understanding of the smallest and largest things in the universe. Also where we came from and how the universe started. Right now is great for us because we can acknowledge how great and smart we feel about knowing all of this, but this is how humans felt hundreds of years ago. We can only imagine what's to come.
